For Astrologers and All Sky Lovers
The astrological chart “is made in heaven” – it describes and measures the state of the heavens and the placement of the planets at a given moment in time, as viewed from earth. The general goal of this work is to explain how the celestial system works, and how it translates into the astrological chart and the variety of techniques employed by the astrologer.
The immediate goal of this work is to serve as a Companion Book is to guide the student, step-by-step, through the multitude of the cosmic ‘moving parts’ that produce the astrological chart, both natal and predictive. It covers all the astronomy topics that a student may encounter throughout their studies, from the very beginning to the advanced, as building block, laid carefully one over the other. The celestial system is multi-dimensional and visual explanations are essential, so diagrams are included for all topics – “a picture is worth a thousand words”.
Even though the main purpose of this work is to provide the scientific information of astronomy, additional information is occasionally added for historical background, broader perspective, and for elucidation of the relevance of certain topics to their application in astrology.
The original impetus for this work, since the early 80’s, has been to provide study material necessary for the NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) Education Program, and for the PAA (Professional Astrologers Alliance) as laid out in the Study Guide, the goal of which is achieving professional certification. However, the material included here is much expanded and comprehensive, and can serve the astronomy curriculum of other astrology schools as well.
Astronomy has been my passion since childhood, so I hope you enjoy studying this work as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
